Went up to Taryall Colorado again today with 2 other gentlemen and between the 3 of us caught 117 Rainbow Trout ranging from 9″ – 13″. One of the guys brought in a 41-1/2 inch, 17 pound Northern Pike. So overall another great day of Colorado fishing.

Besides the snow storms and blizzard through the day, fishing today was awesome. I have a new personnal record for fish in a day, 105 with the biggest being 16 inches. Woohoo!! There is nothing like spring fishing in the Colorado Mountains. I think this year will surpass last years fishing if we keep this going.

So if you want to catch a lot of fish, now is the time. If you want bigger fish, well thats here as well. Especially as more lakes thaw out and open to boating. Get your spot now before the season goes in full swing.

Just found out the 3rd boating lake has opened up, Taryall looks like my next target maybe friday or saturday. Not sure if a boat can go on yet, but should be aweful close. As I am looking at lakes this morning, we had 1 1/2 of snow last night and spitting snow now.

Today was at Georgetown Lake Colorado. Ended up between 2 people with a total of 47 fish. Largest was a rainbow trout at 19 inches. This is for the fish fry tonight and these were all between 14 and 19 inches. Should be a yummy dinner.

Opening weekend at Eleven Mile. There was a total of 3 out fishing today in the boat. Only caught a few but with the biggest being a 22″ Brown Trout. The season is finally starting with 2 lakes now open for boating. I think this is the latest I have ever had a boat on the lakes.

Finally, first lake opened up for boating, Eleven Mile will be first on the list to hit. We are about a month past due for the fishing season, but at least it has started. Now need to shovel out the boat of snow and hopefully will get up this weekend.

With all this warm weather the last couple days, snow is melting fast and lakes are starting to open up from ice. So yesterday was a shopping day, got a new electric trolling motor and some goodies for the boat. today get to install and prep for the fishing season.

So here is the fishing update report: South Park lakes should be 100% open after the weekend and Granby still has 20 inches of ice. so they could be awhile. Guess I will start next week at Taryall or Eleven Mile.
