Day 3 was to Continental Lake and was by far the best Colorado fishing we have had on this trip. Was a varity of fish from Splake, Brook, Rainbow and Cutthroats all averaging 16″ and were all great fighters. Only made one pass around the lake and then the game warden came down and evacuated us off the lake because of the West Fork Complex fire. With just the one pass three of us caught 44 trout. Wish we could have made a longer day of it but was still a fun day. Hoping the fire crews can get a handle on this fire before it gets to much bigger, think it is at 39,000 acres. What we could use is a good rain storm to help battle all the fires we have in the state.

Day 2 was back to Lake San Cristabel and Mill Ponds, another great fishing day with brook and rainbows with a total of 63 between 2 of us.

This area is one of the prettiest parts of Colorado and am so lucky to have places like this as my office.

Headed out to Tarryall Lake Colorado today after church. Was a total of 14 fish and all were rainbow and cutbow trout with one small northern pike brought in. Put smiles on their faces and was a great day on the lake. Great Colorado Fishing!

Today was a new personal record at 115 trout caught in little over 4 hours. Last year was record breaking and the most caught by one was 77 fish and this year so far have had 2 trips that were over 100. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year will be like and who wants to break the record.

So with today being such a beautiful Colorado day. Had a couple hours extra this morning so went out with another guy fishing at Colorado Georgetown Lake. Ended up with 26 fish between the both of us all averaging 12″ – 15″ and were all Brown and Rainbow Trout. So was a great way to start the day.

Anyone that wants to go on a Colorado Fishing charter and just catch a bunch of fish, I know one of the lakes they just stocked, usually are around 10-12 inch trout. Makes for a great fish fry and last time I found out about something like this, I ended up catching 105 trout in 7 hours personally. It is a ton of fun and you never know you might also get one of the big ones as well.

As I was checking out lake reports this morning and this weeks warm weather forcast, I believe most of the lakes will be opened up this week to boating and finally will have ice off. I do not remember the last time everything was still frozen this late. Now the problem I have, is I cant get to all the lakes fast enough.

I believe this year will be better then last year because of conditions and 2012 was a record breaking year. If you want to catch a lot of fish or target bigger ones, Spring is the time as its some of the best fishing of the year. Coming and Join us at Colorado Trout Guide.
