"Should I hire a fishing guide or not?"

This is a question many people ask and here is a couple things that may help. First thing to ask yourself, "Is my goal to catch fish or just to enjoy a day outside?" Second, "How much time do I have to fish and learn the area?"

A good thing about hiring a professional colorado fishing guide for either your home area or when you are traveling, is they know the area. Fishing guides should have a deeper knowledge of the area and where the fish like to hang out. Whether from river or lake, shore or boat, they are the "Go to" guys to get you fish! Many guides will share their secrets of how to catch fish and give you pointers so you can become a better fisherman no matter where you go.

Now, how much TIME do you have? Do you have the time to go fishing several times a week to learn the ins-and-outs of that particular lake or stretch of river? If not, then I highly recommend a guide.

So is it worth it to spend the money for a guide? I hope this short overview will help with that answer. But whatever you decide, just get out there and fish!
